The Indian government has demanded the extradition of Arsh Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla from Canada. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave this information in response to media inquiries. He told that since November 10, there have been reports of arrests in Canada, in which Arsh Dalla, the chief of Khalistan Tiger Force, has been arrested. It has been widely reported in Canadian print and visual media and an Ontario court has set a date for hearing the case.

Arsh Dalla has been declared a criminal in India for his involvement in more than 50 murders, attempt to murder, extortion and terrorist activities. These also include terror financing. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in May 2022. In 2023, the Government of India declared him an individual terrorist. In July 2023, India requested the Canadian government for his temporary arrest, but it was rejected. Additional information was also provided in this matter.

Legal assistance and information exchange from Canada

The Indian government had sent information about Arsh Dalla’s possible residential address, financial transactions in India, movable and immovable properties, mobile number etc. to Canada under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT), which was handed over to the Canadian authorities in January 2023. Was. In December 2023, the Canadian Department of Justice requested additional information in this case, which was answered in March 2024. Following the recent arrest, Indian agencies are pursuing an extradition request in this case. Given Arsh Dalla’s criminal record and involvement in illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited or deported to face justice in India.
